Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Thursday April 3rd)
Best Days: Every day over the coming period
This week and weekend (Apr 3 - 6)
A new pulse of S/SW groundswell started to fill in yesterday and this should of held well into this morning under moderate to fresh E/SE trades.
A much stronger pulse is due to arrive later today and offer solid waves at exposed spots to 5-6ft with 8ft bombs likely this evening and tomorrow morning before easing slowly during the afternoon and further through the weekend.
Fresh E/SE trades will limit the best waves to slightly protected west facing breaks tomorrow, while weaker trades are due Saturday and Sunday with light and more variable winds at dawn.
Next week onwards (Apr 7 onwards)
As touched on last update, only one pulse of considerable groundswell is due next week and this will fill in Tuesday and peak at a similar size to tomorrows swell. The source of this swell is a strong polar front that fired up east of Heard Island yesterday and is pushing east-northeast towards Australia while generating a broad fetch of gale-force SW winds.
After Tuesday's peak, we'll see the size drop away, with only a small-moderate increase in long-range S/SW groundswell due the following weekend.
Looking at the winds, and the trades will break down into next week with light W/SW winds due to favour east facing breaks, although more variable breezes at dawn will open up most breaks for business.
Longer term there's still good signs for some new S/SW groundswell into the week starting the 14th of April, but check back here on Tuesday for an update on this.
