Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Wednesday 9th April)
Best Days: No good days
Recap
A slow drop in size since Monday has been seen across the coast and today it was again clean and tiny.
This week (Apr 9 - 11)
Tomorrow will remain tiny across Clifton and good for beginners, but a slight uptick in size and N'ly winds should offer some better options across exposed spots across the state during the morning.
Friday will be a write-off as a fresh and gusty S'ly moves in due to a deepening surface trough pushing in slowly from the west, with an afternoon increase in junky S/SE windswell due along with poor weather.
This weekend onwards (Apr 12 onwards)
The weekend will most likely consist of average and onshore waves from the SE Saturday, easing into Sunday as the surface trough moving across us Friday forms into a Tasman Low off the East Coast. This will most likely move out of our swell window during Saturday with a junky SE windswell left to ease under fresh to strong E'ly winds.
Come Sunday the SE swell will likely be gone, and a small background SW groundswell isn't likely to top 1ft, but conditions should be much better with morning offshores.
The longer term outlook is a little uncertain, with the models still divergent on what the low in the Tasman Sea will do, so until they make up their mind on this, there'll be some elasticity in the longer term outlook. Therefore check back here Friday for an update on the weekend and also next week onwards.
