Yesterday started off tiny but a steep increase in new W/SW swell should have been seen into the afternoon with the crossing of a vigorous and deepening cold front across us.

In the wake of the front today we've seen cleaner conditions and a good 2-3ft of swell. Conditions have remained good into this afternoon but the swell would of eased further.

This weekend and Monday (Apr 26 - 28)

Tomorrow will be a day to miss with tiny clean swell early, while the afternoon will see more size but with strong onshore winds.

Sunday's swell has been pegged back a bit with the frontal system pushing across us on Saturday staying a touch further north than ideal, limiting the fetch aimed into the South Arm and limiting the size expected.

We'll see less size than this morning with 2ft+ waves likely Sunday morning ahead of a drop into the afternoon and further from 1-2ft Monday. A reinforcing S'ly groundswell for Monday has been wiped as well with the front not stalling favourably in our swell window any more.

Winds on Sunday should be OK early and from the W/NW ahead of a shift to the W/SW during the day. Monday looks good for a venture away from Clifton with N/NW tending NE winds.

Next Tuesday onwards (Apr 29 onwards)

Through next week there's nothing really major on the cards until later in the week when we should see a good pulse of SW groundswell moving through. This will be generated by a vigorous but distant polar low firing up south-southwest of WA and is expected to peak in the 2ft+ range Friday morning. We'll review this again on Monday though, so check back then for an update.
