Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 13th November)
Best Days: Thursday morning, Friday morning
Recap
Small onshore waves were seen early yesterday but a large E/NE swell should of developed steadily as the day progressed as an intense Tasman Low moved down towards us.
A peak in size was seen this morning to a large and stormy 6-8ft, but the swell should be easing as winds persist from the N/NE.
This week (Nov 14-15)
Tomorrow morning will be the pick of the period as the E/NE swell continues to ease as winds swing straight offshore due to the Tasman Low continuing to shift south. Open beaches should see excellent 3-4ft waves before dropping back to 2-3ft during the afternoon.
By Friday not much E/NE swell above 1-2ft is expected mixed in with a similar sized S'ly windswell as winds become average and fresh from the SW to SE.
This weekend (Nov 16-17)
There's nothing significant on the cards for the weekend besides tiny levels of E'ly swell to 0.5-1ft.
Next week (Nov 18 onwards)
The longer term remains void of any major swell but we'll review this again on Fri
