Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 30th December)
Best Days: Tuesday morning and Friday at south swell magnets
Recap
The weekend didn't offer any real swell with a tiny NE windswell Saturday that peaked Sunday morning to 1-2ft.
Today a new S'ly swell was building across the coast, with tiny waves this morning expected to have lifted during the day to 1-2ft at open beaches and 3ft at south swell magnets.
This week (Dec 30 – Jan 3)
The intense low that moved under us yesterday and generated today's S'ly swell has since moved off to the east, and with this we'll see the swell drop away from 1ft at open beaches tomorrow with the odd 2ft set at south swell magnets under W/NW winds.
This weekend onwards (Jan 4 onwards)
There's nothing major on the cards for the weekend as the S'ly swell fades away leaving tiny to flat waves across the coast.
Heading into next week there's still nothing too major on the cards besides small pulses of S'ly swell.
