Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th January)
Best Days: Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, early Wednesday
Recap
Wednesday's kick in S'ly swell held in at a good 2-3ft across the coast into yesterday with offshore winds. A drop in size occurred into the afternoon, and today building levels of NE windswell are now breaking across the coast.
This weekend (Jan 25 - 26)
This should kick up a small-moderate S'ly swell with improving conditions as morning SW winds tend variable into the afternoon. A secondary pulse is due on Sunday with variable winds ahead of NE sea breezes, so hit up south swell magnets for the best waves.
Next week onwards (Jan 27 onwards)
We'll see moderate levels of NE windswell developing across the coast through next week as a persistent and strengthening northerly ridge develops in the Southern Tasman Sea.
At this stage a peak in size is due on Wednesday as a S/SE change moves through, so hit up protected southern corners for good waves.
Longer term, small waves from the E/NE are due but we'll review this on Monday.
