Wave heights continued to ease through yesterday and further today from Sunday/Monday's swell leaving tiny waves across the coast into today.

This week (Mar 5 - 7)

A small bump in swell is due tomorrow from the W/SW but not really above a very inconsistent 2ft across Clifton. Winds will be great though and offshore from the NW ahead of light SE sea breezes.

Tiny will then see tiny waves again with all day NW tending W/NW winds.

This weekend onwards (Mar 8 onwards)

A stronger long-range and inconsistent SW groundswell is due on Sunday from a distant polar low that formed in the Heard Island region Monday and is now tracking east along the polar shelf closer to us while weakening.

Due to the extremely large distance between the source of the swell and our coast there'll be long waits between sets and only an inconsistent 2ft+ wave is due Saturday afternoon under NE tending E'ly winds.

The swell should then ease Sunday from 2ft or so under freshening N/NE winds, favouring more exposed coasts.

Longer term there's nothing major into the start of next week but we should see some better W/SW groundswell from mid-week onwards. There doesn't look to be too much sized attached to this with each frontal system generating the swell being too far north and not ideally placed in our swell window, but we'll confirm this Friday.
