With 13 waves an hour to cover the construction costs, energy use, staff and maintenance, they are probably right. It will be for the wealthy!

No Blowin' but the Olympics guarantees world class bureaucracy and lucrative back room construction deals......but don't listen to me, I live in Sydney and we are still three hospitals, four high schools and 100km of major roadworks short at the expense of our little party.
I do love me a layer of bureaucracy. They should televise the influence peddling and official vote auctioneering live. Now that is some ruthless competition.

OK, fair enough, but at least they will be super experienced and acclimatised to being paid fuck all, and being 'televised' at 3.45am. Plus, if the mighty machine blows up, all the accumulated, elite expertise with lay days can quickly and smoothly spring into action.

Man made waves are one thing, but surfing without drugs! It's just not natural.
The winter Olympics pretty much shot itself in the foot , with the inclusion of Snowboarding and then " lost " half the elite riders including Shaun White ....
Surely once bittern , twice shy .
How can artificial waves be same as original ones? I doubt on this point. Surfing has no boundaries and need a big space.
