Longboard judging

Was rewatching some of the recent longboard world titles held in Taiwan. Quite fascinating really. Waves were pretty good, they look like they’re doing all the right things but I just don’t really understand how they judge?
- are nose rides like barrel rides? Scores on length / critical nature of the wave?
- does said nose ride supersede all other manoeuvres?
- Do people ‘hang 10’ ? No one was doing this.
- is trying to wack the lip bit like doing an air rev @ pipe?

All these questions and more. We’ve all jumped on one before, I for one love the glide and early entry into the wave you get - just kind of forget about it for months on end.

Can imagine most of those crew at that level shred on short boards also, wonder what drove them to the longboard?
