Summer
Gee, she's a tough one to forecast. GFS was pretty much on the money with her track overnight, but GFS appears in the latest forecast to have slightly weakened the compact fetch on her southern flank.
Latest obs however tend to indicate she's still packing some punch, albeit compact. I'm still thinking the peak of the swell will come in over expectations, but unfortunately the peak might just occur overnight....which isn't much good to us surfers.
She's only a small system but has a pretty inpressive eye.
I was looking at the NRL and they have it swinging to the North and will be WSW of Tonga on the 14/2 and weakening.
Their predictions are pretty accurate and where within a 100km of land fall for Yasi 3 days out last year.
NASA said that yesterday they observed her eye as being 60nm in diameter!! thats huge!
they also went on to say that residents of Tonga should keep a close watch on this system as it tracks north into warmer waters and a conductive environment.
JTWC says shes moving into a col area to the north in about 48hrs and they dont have much confidence in her track.
lol, Jasmine was a "severe" let down in the swell department. Really lacking any sort of cradling from a decent high pressure.

Thought I'd start a new thread Craig.
Thank feck the month of November is behind us. One of the worst on record in SE Qld for no surf.
Looks like the drought is broken, and in more ways than one come late next week with the potential for some serious flooding rains for SE and S Qld!!!
