Two years ago, before he was PM, Abbott made this speech at the IPAs 70th birthday celebratory dinner. The MC was Bolt. Another speaker was Rupert Murdoch. Also in attendance were Gina, Cardinal Pell, and most of the LNP front bench. It was a real plutocrat's picnic.

The actual speech used to be on Abbott's Liberal homepage. It was removed. It makes for sobering reading, especially the Christian stuff. Well may we laugh at Ben Carson in the US right now, but this guy Abbott was actually OUR PM!

https://independentaustralia.net/politics/politics-display/plutocrats-p…

here is the IPAs to-do list for Tones and the gang:

https://ipa.org.au/publications/2080/be-like-gough-75-radical-ideas-to-…

How much of the list has the LNP worked through? It's a shocker! And now with Malcolm on the shit-shovel, how much more is to come?

I've been listening to a lot of Jello Biafra's spoken word stuff lately...mostly from the 90s. A lot of it is from around the time the original free trade agreement between Canada, the US, and Mexico (NAFTA) was implemented, as well as GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs & Trade), and the birth of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Listening to, first, the concerns and then the realities of these 'free trade' farragoes and their impacts in the US, is a huge dose of wake-the-fuck-up in regards to our very own LNPs treaty work of late with China (CHAFTA) and others, and especially the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership).

Here's a look back at some NAFTA impact:

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/lori-wallach/nafta-at-20-one-million-u_b_…

Elizabeth = Detroit, anyone?

And now there's the written-for-corporations-by-corporations TPP:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-11-06/tienhaara-ttp-investment/6918810

Floyd, amazing timing re: lobby groups. How's this??

Adelaide lobbyist, and known right ol' Tory twat, Ian Smith.

https://www.thepowerindex.com.au/lobbyists/ian-smith (check the others on the list too!)

And he's married to Natasha Stott Despoja?!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't get how diametrically opposed political types literally get into bed together.

What do they talk about round the dinner table? Anything but 'work' obviously!?

It makes me doubt their political authenticity...it's all just a game? Really?

Having the skinny on Stott Despoja pre-Democrats (Adelaide's one/two degrees of separation!), maybe this doesn't surprise so much.

Hmmm, but, as another example, what's Kate Ellis, Labor MP, doing married to this chancer?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Penberthy

Just another Adelaide Uni alumnus, ex-Marxist, punk singer (I used to enjoy his band), and student comrade of fellow traveller Annabel Crabb (another one of THEM!), turned Daily Terror-graph editor, The Punch boss, and all-round trained Murdoch walrus.

Check his 'work' here (good site by the way...personal bias withstanding):

https://loonpond.blogspot.com.au/2011/01/david-penberthy-murdoch-empire-…

These 'game-players' are a real drag, man...attempting to drag us all into their turgid miasmic pool of cynical me-ism.

Fuck 'em (figuratively!). Don't let the bastards/bitches grind yer down.

Reaping the rewards now and raping the Flannery.

Never trust a smackie.

Fleet is a funny cunt and a fucking prick.

Now if we're talking Aussie comedians, I reckon Lawrence Mooney is the man. I saw him this year, with Fleet and Wil Anderson doing some kind of ad-lib theatre sports type of shit, and Mooney owned them, the stage, the whole ball of wax.

Actually, Anderson was fucking shithouse. Fleet had a crack. Mooney had us in tears.

Anyway, get off the drugs, buddy.

Oh yeah, Fred Negro is a funny bugger too. For a Collingwood supporter.

When I was a grommet, this grommet represented everything Seppo to me that was summed up in Occy's infamous "We've got to stop these American wankers". Him and Archy were pumped up as the next big things to take on the young guns, the Luke Egans and Nicky Woods', of Australia. He even looked like a weirdo with his fluoro white bowl head.

And now he's dead at 45 from a heart attack. Poor bugger. RIP David Eggers

That was quite a classic, but very little of it was true. Probably Occy's introduction to being manipulated by the media.

Sheepster, good one. I said above I'd been listening to a lot of Jello Biafra's spoken word lately. This is one of his repeated topics. The Prison-Industrial Complex.

https://theobamacrat.com/2012/02/10/the-prison-industrial-complex/

He also made this more recently.

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="

frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This is ethnic cleansing
American Style
More people in Jail
Than any country's ever tried

The more our prisons
Are privately owned
The more the Prison-Industrial Complex grows

They need more bodies
To cram in more cells
So they finance campaigns
For more 3 strikes laws

Three Strikes
You're out!

FUCKEN SHAMEFUL. Now, as for Australia's indigenous incarceration, erm...

https://theconversation.com/unfinished-business-reducing-indigenous-inc…

https://www.creativespirits.info/aboriginalculture/law/aboriginal-prison…

Aboriginal people represent only 3% of the total population, yet more than 28% of Australia’s prison population are Aboriginal.

FUCKEN SHAMEFUL.

Shats.. I had the pleasure of meeting Jello in person, 1994ish, Adelaide Uni just briefly..... 3 or 4 minute chat after his gig..... I was speaking to him about "privatization". Privatizing water was the big talk in Adelaide at the time..... One little sentence stuck with me, when I asked him for his opinion.... He looked at me and simply said..... "Feel the monkey wrench tighten"....... ;)

Andrew Elder writes about corporate broadcast media and how shit they are in reporting on politics. Especially in the Canberra press gallery. He used to be a Liberal politician. A real insider. He knows his onions. And he can write!

"Rudd and Abbott were never good enough to become Prime Minister. Australians are badly informed by broadcast media. This blog searches for ways to get information on how we are governed, and how we might be governed."

It is called PRESS GALLERY REFORM.

The Donald is pretty much a pure media construct. No previous party political involvement with the Republicans at any level, really. No grunt work or being part of the machine/team. It's part of his appeal. He ain't one of THEM. The 'established' political classes.

I find it interesting that he's using this 'outsider' status (which is pretty ridiculous) to out-fox Fox News...and Murdoch....at the moment. He's making them look like the 'establishment' he rails against, and that's attracting his audience and supporters, and thus INFLUENCE, away from Rupe. How much longer will this dumb-ass right-wing cluster-fuck go on?

It's early days...still. We all know how Rupe likes to paint himself in the power-broking stakes. Will he jump on board the Trump crazy-train? Or do everything in his evil powers to derail it?

Is this where Australia is heading, politically??

“This will be the third consecutive year of cattle slaughter exceeding eight million head, something that’s never been seen before. As a result, beef production is estimated to reach 2.46 million tonnes cwt – which will be the second highest volume ever,” said Ben Thomas, Manager of Market Information for MLA."
