Here's a link to an amazing piece put together by two journalists who posed as boat people to capture the whole ordeal from paying the people smugglers to setting off towards Australia.

Took some reading, but a good read Craig.
An amazing journey for not much in the end, I do feel for the people involved.
We forget sometimes how lucky we are.
