Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Wednesday 6th November)
Best Days: Early Thursday, early Sunday, Monday morning
Recap
Small clean waves have padded out the last few days, and a new W/SW groundswell is filling in today.
Short Term (Nov 7-8)
This afternoon's lift in W/SW groundswell should ease through tomorrow to be replaced by a secondary stronger increase in swell Friday. There'll only be a small window of clean conditions tomorrow morning though just before a surface trough pushes across the state so get out early for clean 2ft waves.
Friday's swell should come in at a stronger 2-3ft but SE winds will create poor conditions.
This weekend (Nov 9-10)
In saying this, early Sunday and Monday should see periods of more variable winds creating cleaner conditions before the SE'ly kicks in. A good SW swell is also due during this period, arriving later Sunday and easing Monday linked to a strong polar front firing up towards us later this week (bottom right).
Longer Term (Nov 11 onwards)
Beyond Monday's SW swell there's nothing major on the cards for us so try and make the most of small windows of clean surf over the coming forecast period.
