Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 25th November)
Best Days: Tuesday morning, early Wednesday, Sunday morning
Recap
The weekend started off fun and clean with 2-3ft of NE swell but a change in weather bought S'ly winds into the afternoon and a building S/SE swell. This kicked up a large stormy swell through yesterday with protected locations offering fun waves into the afternoon with strong S'ly winds.
Today the swell is easing slowly from a messy 5-6ft across open beaches with poor onshore winds.
The low pressure system responsible for yesterday and today's swell is currently continuing to aim a fetch of strong to gale-force SE winds through our swell window. This will keep moderate levels of E/SE swell hitting the coast through tomorrow before easing later in the day and further through Wednesday.
Winds should be good tomorrow morning and variable ahead of NE sea breezes, while Wednesday will see an early NW'ly before the NE'ly kicks in again.
This weekend (Nov 30 onwards)
A surface trough will move in from the west later in the week bringing with it some S'ly windswell and average winds. Beyond this there's nothing too major but check back here on Wednesday for the latest update.
