South Australian Forecast (issued Monday 2nd December)
Best Days: Tuesday morning, Friday morning in protected spots, Saturday morning, Sunday morning
Recap
Saturday saw fun peaky waves across semi-protected spots on the South Coast under an E/NE breeze, while Sunday provided much cleaner conditions as small waves continued across the coast.
Today the surf is tiny with a light onshore down South and tiny to flat waves on the Mid Coast.
This week (Dec 2 – Dec 6)
A small pulse in long-range and inconsistent SW groundswell is due tomorrow across the state tomorrow and light variable winds during the morning will create clean glassy conditions ahead of afternoon sea breezes.
A secondary pulse of weaker W/SW swell is due Wednesday but a strong cold front moving in from the west will see fresh W/SW winds developing across the state.
This will also kick up a late increase in SW windswell ahead of a bigger S/SW swell Thursday generated by a fetch of strong S/SW winds pushing into the region. Conditions will be poor and stormy with a strong but easing S/SW wind Thursday while Friday will see lingering onshore that may swing locally offshore from the W/NW around Victor.
The Mid Coast should also see 2ft or so of swell developing Wednesday afternoon and easing Thursday but conditions will remain average with the onshore wind.
This weekend (Dec 7 onwards)
The S/SW swell will continue to ease through Saturday from 2ft or so as winds swing offshore, favouring the exposed beaches on the South Coast. A fun new S/SW swell is due Sunday under morning offshores keeping fun waves hitting the South Coast.
