Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 2nd November)
Best Days: Thursday morning, Saturday morning, Sunday
Recap
A small NE windswell came in at 1-2ft yesterday, while a stronger NE groundswell has filled in today a little ahead of schedule with inconsistent but good 2-3ft sets breaking across the coast.
This week (Dec 4 – Dec 6)
Today's NE groundswell will ease through tomorrow, but there should still be good sets to 2ft+ early under offshore winds.
A fresh pulse of S'ly swell is due Friday linked to a strong S'ly change up the coast overnight Thursday but this doesn't look to top 2ft at open beaches and 3ft at south facing beaches (under our computer model forecasts).
This weekend (Dec 7 onwards)
In saying this though, a fetch of S/SE winds feeding into the bottom of the low (pictured right) should generate a good S/SE groundswell for Sunday to 3ft across the coast. Conditions should be great as well with an offshore NW tending fresh N/NE breeze.
Sunday's S/SE swell will ease into the afternoon and swing more SE direction, fading into next week with nothing major on the cards beyond this.
