Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Monday 9th December)
Best Days: Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning, Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday
Recap
A small increase in S'ly swell was seen Saturday to 2ft or so across the South Arm with morning W'ly winds. The swell dropped away into Sunday though leaving smaller 1ft waves with average NE winds.
Today tiny waves have continued with more favourable N'ly winds.
This week (Dec 9 - 13)
The storms haven't been too favourably positioned in our swell window but we should still see good 1-2ft waves developing tomorrow afternoon and persisting Wednesday before easing late. Winds will be favourable and from the W/NW tomorrow and then W/NW to W/SW Wednesday.
Some better aligned SW swell is then due into Friday ahead of another stronger pulse Saturday as a series of more favourably aligned polar fronts push into us (pictured above). A peak to 2-3ft is expected on Saturday with W/NW winds creating fun waves across Clifton.
Next week (Dec 16 onwards)
The longer term outlook is quiet with tiny waves expected most of next week. There's a chance for some better swell into the end of the week but check back here on Wednesday for the latest on this.
