Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 9th November)
Best Days: Tuesday
Recap
Saturday saw fun levels of S'ly swell, but it was later in the day and Sunday that stood out as a strong and powerful SE groundswell filled in, peaking at 4-5ft. Winds from the northern quadrant favoured slightly protected spots, but these were picking up the most size.
The swell faded into the afternoon as winds tended offshore topping off a fun weekend of waves. Today there's not much left above 1-2ft out of the SE with light variable winds.
This week (Dec 9 - 13)
Small levels of SE swell should persist at 1-2ft across open beaches tomorrow from the last breath of the low linked to the weekend's swell as it drifted off across New Zealand. Winds will be fresh to strong offshore all day and from the W/NW.
The swell will then fade Wednesday with nothing significant on the cards at all for the rest of the week.
This weekend onwards (Dec 14 onwards)
A small pulse of S'ly swell is on the cards for Saturday from a cold front pushing up into us but the size of this doesn't look to top 1-2ft max at south swell magnets. Unfortunately beyond this there's nothing major on the cards.
