Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Tuesday 10th December)
Best Days: Saturday morning, Sunday morning, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning
Recap
Small to tiny waves were seen across the coast yesterday, with Geraldton offering the most size on the backside of the swell seen earlier in the week. Today small to tiny surf continued with morning offshore winds.
This week and weekend (Dec 13 - 15)
A slight increase in SW groundswell ahead of a further jump Saturday generated by a small cold front skirting through our swell window the last couple of days. This should peak into Saturday afternoon in the South West, and Sunday up at Gero under light offshore winds.
The swell will then ease through Sunday under favourable winds again during the morning ahead of moderate afternoon sea breezes.
Next week (Dec 16 onwards)
The Margaret River region should peak in the 4-5ft range, with 2ft sets in Perth and 3ft to occasionally 4ft around Gero but with fresh S/SE winds. This will favour slightly protected locations. As the swell eases Thursday more favourable E/SE winds are due across most of the state (SE around Gero).
Longer term there's nothing significant on the cards so make the most of the coming swells.
