Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 23rd December)
Best Days: Christmas morning, Thursday morning in protected spots, Saturday morning
Recap
There hasn't been much happening in the surf department the last few days, and the trend has continued into today with tiny to flat waves across the state.
This week (Dec 24 - 27)
Tomorrow will remain tiny but heading into Christmas Day a fun new SW groundswell is expected to fill in across the state.
This will result in winds swinging E/SE during Wednesday morning creating fun waves across most coasts, while Thursday will see less favourable S/SE winds.
Another good pulse of SW groundswell is due Friday followed by a third on Saturday but these don't look to be as big as Wednesday's pulse. The source of these swells will be back to back mid-latitude fronts moving towards us this week.
Conditions will remain less than perfect Friday with S/SE winds, but Saturday looks great with morning offshore E/SE winds.
This weekend onwards (Dec 28 onwards)
A slow drop in size is expected Sunday with average S'ly winds, but a series of medium sized SW groundswell pulses are due through next week. Winds look to be generally from the SE each morning, but we'll review this again on Wednesday.
