Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 25th December)
Best Days: Late Saturday
Recap
Merry Christmas from the Swellnet team! Small to tiny levels of NE windswell persisted yesterday, while today the swell is back to a tiny 0.5-1ft.
This week (Dec 26 - 27)
The end of the week will see more of the same tiny NE windswell building across the coast tomorrow and easing through Friday.
This weekend onwards (Dec 28 onwards)
A touch more size is expected Saturday afternoon/evening out of the NE as a strong but temporary northerly ridge develops down the coast. This won't reach above 1-2ft though later Saturday but a swing to strong NW winds should provide some small clean peaks.
A strong cold front crossing us Sunday won't bring any major increase in swell, with the fetch being too SW in nature, and the swell passing us up out to sea.
Unfortunately the longer term doesn't reveal any meaningful swell so keep yourself busy with other activities.
