Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Friday 3rd January)
Best Days: Saturday, Monday in protected spots
Recap
Yesterday started off tiny but a new swell should of filled in during the late afternoon and this has held well into this morning to 2-3ft across Clifton with a light offshore wind. The swell should be easing into the afternoon
This weekend (Jan 4 – 5)
Tomorrow is looking tricky with a very strong mid-latitude low expected to move across us, but the system will be right on the edge of being too north for us (pictured right). A small fetch of gale to severe-gale W/SW winds will be generated under us and this should kick up a fun W/SW swell for tomorrow.
The swell will fade overnight though with tiny waves due into Sunday.
Next week (Jan 6 onwards)
Longer term there's nothing major on the cards as the storm track focusses up towards WA resulting in tiny W'ly swells for us. So try and make the most of the coming windows of opportunity.
