Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Wednesday 8th January)
Best Days: Thursday and Friday at exposed spots
Recap
A new W'ly swell due yesterday again came in too west for the South Arm, with small 1-2ft waves at Clifton. This swell held a similar size into this morning with offshore winds but fresh sea breezes have since set in.
This week (Jan 9-10)
A new long-range SW groundswell is due across the state tomorrow keeping inconsistent 1-2ft waves hitting Clifton into the afternoon. Winds should be good all day for exposed spots and from the N/NE. The swell will fade through Friday as favourable winds persist.
This weekend onwards (Jan 11 onwards)
The weekend should continue to provide tiny waves for beginners across the coast as a distant W/SW groundswell fills in under W'ly winds. This swell was generated too north and on the periphery of our swell window resulting in the tiny and inconsistent swell.
Heading into next week there's nothing major on the cards unfortunately so make the most of tomorrow's and Friday's swell.
