South Australian Forecast (issued Monday 27th January)
Best Days: Wednesday arvo and Thursday morning on the Mid, Saturday morning down South
Recap
Saturday saw average conditions down South with onshore winds and an average mix of swells. Sunday was much better with peaky waves under a cross-offshore breeze that persisted well into the afternoon.
Today conditions are better again with a straight offshore but the swell is only small leaving Waits and Parsons with the best waves while the Mid Coast is effectively flat.
This week (Jan 28 - 31)
Give the surf a miss tomorrow as the swell will be tiny and tricky under fresh offshore winds down South.
This system should produce inconsistent 1-2ft waves for the Mid later Wednesday and Thursday morning while the South Coast will see more size but terrible conditions with a fresh onshore breeze.
A better SW groundswell for the South Coast is due Thursday afternoon but winds will again be average and freshening from the S/SE. The morning may be OK if you're in the area. Friday will remain poor with fresh SE tending S/SE winds.
This weekend (Feb 1 onwards)
Another fun pulse of SW groundswell is due Saturday and winds should be OK for protected locations down South with an E/NE breeze, but another change is due Sunday with onshores from the S/SW to S/SE.
Longer term there's still nothing major on the cards besides a distant W/SW groundswell for Tuesday. We'll review this again on Wednesday.
