Southern Tasmania Forecast (issued Monday 27th January)
Best Days: Thursday, Friday morning, Saturday morning
Recap
A strong increase in SW groundswell was seen on Saturday to 3ft across Clifton with early W'ly winds. The swell held unexpectedly well into Sunday with more favourable winds ahead of a drop into the afternoon.
Today, tiny 1-1.5ft waves were breaking across Clifton with all day offshores.
This week (Jan 28 - 31)
The first pulse of swell is expected to fill in Wednesday afternoon ahead of another pulse Thursday afternoon.
Size wise, we're probably not looking at anything above an inconsistent 1-2ft across Clifton. Winds look best on Thursday for more exposed spots and from the N'th.
This weekend (Feb 1 onwards)
Another pulse of W/SW groundswell is due Saturday to a similar 1-2ft across Clifton, while longer term, small to tiny pulses of W/SW swell are due to continue.
