Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th January)
Best Days: Wednesday morning, Sunday morning
Recap
Margs and Gero performed best on Saturday with a small swell and offshore winds. A weak change moving through Sunday bought average conditions with the small to tiny amount of swell breaking across the state.
Today started off slow but a new SW groundswell has since filled in although conditions are poor again with onshore winds.
This week (Jan 28 - 31)
The cold front that's currently clipping the south of the state has generated a large pulse of SW groundswell that should fill in tomorrow and peak during the afternoon to 6ft to occasionally 8ft in the South West, 2ft to occasionally 3ft in Perth and 4-5ft up at Gero Wednesday morning.
Winds tomorrow will improve but be less than perfect and from the S/SE. Wednesday looks better with offshore E/SE winds during the morning.
Another smaller pulse of SW swell is due to arrive later Thursday and peak Friday morning but with average S'ly winds.
This weekend onwards (Feb 1 onwards)
Winds for this swell look great as well and offshore from the E/SE with most spots expected to offer excellent waves.
Beyond this there's nothing major on the cards so plan around the upcoming swells this period.
