Rivermouth Cam Poor Focus

I've also noticed the same thing with the SA Rivermouth cam more recently. Several of the crew have also said the same. Cam not clear any more - is there any explanation as to why?

There's a roof line in the cam view (bottom left) from the neighbouring property that we can't frame around (the roof wasn't an issue until a few years ago when they upgraded and extended the balcony). Occasionally the auto-focus gets stuck on that roof line (just a few metres away), which puts the surf out of focus (500-600m away). We tried to fix it - unsuccessfully - last year, so the only option is a camera upgrade with a different lens so we can zoom in a little more.

love these behind the scenes insights @thermalben. i'm sure there's often pain-in-the-arsedness associated with them, and I appreciate there's probably a lot of delicacy around arrangements, but are there any aspects of what happened to the WR cam in west vicco back when that you might share? seemed like it stayed a 'maybe' for over a year too..

Speaking of camera upgrades, you mentioned that the Kirra cams were going to be upgraded, to me, last year.
The quality of the Kirra and North Kirra cams is still woeful.
Am I really paying for this?
Come on guys, get it fixed please, at least to the standard of the Greenmount view.

On my phone App, the Cabarita Beach, Cabarita North and the Kingscliff cams do not load. The thumbnails appear but nothing happens when selected.
All the other ones work fine.
Any ideas?

The Palm Beach cam has been down for months with no explanation why and for how long even though I have asked at least 3 times.
Don’t hold your breath for a positive reply.

Palm Beach cam is down as the building its on is being renovated, we've been told they'll be done at the end of Feb so are assuming it'll be back early March.

Ben, any progress on the Kirra cams update?

Yep they'll all be upgraded in the next few weeks. Had a new technician start a few weeks ago, getting them up to speed with things.

Any idea why certain cams won't display on the phone app?

What kind of phone do you have? We have had a few isolated reports that some cameras won't work with particular versions of phones (usually iPhones, older ones).

It is considered a vintage model HaHaHa
It's an iPhone SE, running on iOS 15.8.3
As I said it's only those cams I mentioned that won't load, the rest work perfectly.

Thanks Ben, not sure if you did anything in the background but the cam is looking a lot clearer...
If the cam was getting stuck focussing on the roofline, then there's something wrong with the cam because it was blurry af. But now it seems to be good, just need some swell hey
