Benn Richardson riding the razor's edge at Shippies. Could a wave be any more critical?

You can see that Ben knows this wave inside out and what chances he can take. Ben looked like he could have got a barrel inside the big barrel after the 2nd step. hahahha! Good one. When I surf Big Winkipop(Fairy bower Manly) When you take off outside you prepare for the step then comes the barrel. Shipsterns is the Huge Big brother of Winkipop.

Geez great negotiation.
Was he towed in....?
What are the rules when others are paddling...?

Yep. Towed.

That's just ridiculous..... Sometimes it's good being old...... ;)
Wellsy.... My rule would be - rule 1 - Just sit in the fuckn boat, crack a jim beam can, and shake my fuckn head ;)

Sounds not too bad Sheepio Boy,
If I had nothing else, would go the Jim also :)

Ohh yeah looking at that avatar Sheepio, with a head like that, if ya shook it too hard the thing would wobble off......?

No-one has answered my question tho........?

Hey Welly,

There's a size when both tow surfers and paddlers are in the mix, and it appears Friday was around that size. At those times both parties have to work around each other with paddlers taking priority, as you'd expect.

There's a video from a year or so back where Mikey Brennan (I think) who's paddling takes off behind a tow surfer. The tow surfer, who's one of the Tassie lads from memory, tries to get off the wave as quick as possible when he sees someone has paddled into it. I think that'd answer your question.

Cool, good answer.
Nice one, cheers Stu.

Even though it was really inconsistent there was the odd tow wave. The paddlers sat in a pack and waited there turn. And i can tell you that none of the paddlers look back to see if someone was getting towed into it. They would go either way and have the right too. No questions asked. If ya paddle into it, its your wave.
