Jordy Smith: The Getaway - video

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

Ain't nothing more that Jordy Smith likes to do than turn his back on the world and simply surf for himself, and for the sponsor's cameras, and for you.

Welcome to solitude in the information age! Least the barrels are long.

I guess Jordy won't be happy till he is complaining about the crowds at this joint. Is he in such dire requirements of exposure to satisfy his sponsors that he has to push this spot onto the world stage ?

Fucker knows how to thread a barrel though.

Would you go back Yocal ?

yocal Tuesday, 28 Oct 2014 at 11:51 am new

yeah its rad, but just like QLD points I don't reckon you'd see it like that very often.

In terms of a holiday... safest spot in Africa that I saw, cheap living, chilled out, good party atmosphere, mish to get to from Aus.

Without naming spots could we assume that is Mozambique?

Not that I will ever get there.

Guy can surf, those hacks are all time and the tubes are ridiculous. I'm with Freeride, I will never get there either, good to mind at work though.

Is not naming the spot more of an issue for a remote area with few locals in need of development?

Pretty sure its D.I. point during cyclone Oswald 2013. There, I've said it.

the locals have so many coconuts & fish to eat they could cut themselves off from the rest of civilisation if they wanted. Good living = low crime.

Oswald 2013? haha that was the most famous secret session ever, would have remained a legend if Ellis Ericsson wasn't trying to get some publicity at the time and got a few double pagers of him 'styling'.

yeah for sure it was a refreshing end to the trip we did after seeing how bad life can be in CT and Joburg.
