What lovely sharing.

50young Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 02:56 pm new

More drop ins than Snapper or at least as many!!

doggy72 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 03:01 pm new

Why would you even bother?
Don't even know why you would even post this.

shithead Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 03:57 pm new

Looks like noosa his week, things are getting outta control !

ACB__ Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 03:59 pm new

Cull the kooks.

quokka Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:13 pm new

Absolute circus

Rabbits68 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:19 pm new

Wow. Crazy crowds but that was pretty nice all the same...

mk1 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:28 pm new

The 1-2 foot with fat sections bit?

Rabbits68 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:33 pm new

MK1 why do people like you actually bother to watch these clips that feature surf that you know your not going to like? Surely you've got better things to do with your time, at least I hope you have :-)

mk1 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:39 pm new

Unfortunately:
- I didn't know I wasn't into it until after I had watched it.
- Right now, I really don't have anything better to do with my time, its either this or DIRD images on the internets.

Rabbits68 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:46 pm new

Put it this way 1. Do you ever ride longboards? 2. Do you ever ride short boards in those type of waves (Pass, Noosa, etc)? If not then I hate to break it to you but your probably never going to like the clips featuring those types of waves by the sounds of it. That said, whinging is free & legal :-)

mk1 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:57 pm new

Well, I do occasionally ride longboards, and sometimes even at the videoed spot. But I make sure i never enjoy it ;(

Rabbits68 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 05:03 pm new

Fair enough :-)

surfstarved Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:28 pm new

Fucking hell, I'm with doggy72, why would you?

I used to think it was crowded back in the late 80s when I started surfing, but that's ridiculous!

braudulio Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 04:30 pm new

Title says "from where you'd rather be" mmm ... don't think so.

roubydouby Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 05:03 pm new

From where you'd rather be - yeah, behind a computer screen.

Beautiful filming though!

Actually think I would rather be behind a computer screen than out there, or at another spot nearby.

Yeah nice footage, must've been a bitch to get all those consent forms signed though.

roubydouby Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 06:14 pm new

probably just did a letter drop while he was filming.

zsurfnut Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 05:28 pm new

....what a shitfight !!

maddogmorley Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 05:34 pm new

Even fat waves like Middleton to Goolwa are getting crowded these days. On the weekend just gone was a nice swell running and couldnt get a carpark at 8am. Been like this all year. Counted between 12 and 15 SUP's on just one bank. Must have been a couple of hundred out overall. Not sure where this explosion has come from - seems like the crowds are doubling every year. Guess surfing is being promoted as a healty lifestyle and a legit career choice these days rather than being only for long haired, drug fuelled vagrants like it was in my day. Way more chicks and groms in the lineup. Way more kooks too with SUP's and longboards making it easy for the less skilled to get more waves.

soggydog Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 12:14 am new

Totally agree, long boards and SUP's increase ones abilty to catch waves even if they have less than the required skill or etiquette to surf them. It also doesn't help when you have fuck wits like Blowin and Uncle-Leroy who want to prove how rad they are and expose other areas to the masses. Thanks to those two fuckers from the surfers of WA's south coast.

surfstarved Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 03:11 pm new

The SUPs at Middleton are a fucking joke these days! They take at least 7 waves out of every 10. Makes me want to train up a tame GWS and set him loose with orders to eat on sight.

goofyfoot Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 05:50 pm new

Cool angles from the drone. What the fuck is going on with the crowd though! Not sure how you could see all those people out and think, oh yeah I might as well join them...
That looked horrendous

mothart Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 06:23 pm new

Maybe if they started trying for 5 on a wave instead of that lazy 3 I saw a few times, it might work better & could even invite more people out to enjoy the fun.

Eminzed Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 07:37 pm new

I was linked from the Torquay page where I enjoyed 2 foot chop in cold water for two and a half hours this am with nobody else around. Is that better than crowded Byron?

zenagain Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 07:41 pm new

Yep! Bet you caught more waves than most of the people out there in this vid did too.

kerry1 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 08:12 pm new

Watched it for 10 seconds then hung up. You wouldn't even dream of going out in that rubbish. Poor sods nothing better to do.

willywonty Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 09:38 pm new

would i want to surf that?
PASS!!!!

Newie74 Monday, 16 Mar 2015 at 10:34 pm new

I could not think of anything worse! That is my idea of hell. What a circus!

rh-taxi Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 05:16 am new

Heavy sigh for days gone by...hang on it was kinda like that in the mid eighties too, minus
all the backpackers chasing the dream.

Gussyboy Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 08:56 am new

We need more sharks

chook Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 09:21 am new

that cheered me up. it makes my little part of the world look like an undiscovered surfing paradise.

AlienSurf Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 12:16 pm new

How interesting are Mr Hynds lines sitting down.
Ride anything and everything for fun.
Complaining about crowds as a surfer is like complaining about traffic when your sitting in your car in it.

"There is no such thing as a bad wave. Just bad choice of equipment and bad attitudes"

wally Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 06:08 pm new

I agree with you, but I reckon that is Dave 'Rasta' Rastovich. The film maker mentions him in his notes for the video.

Edit: somebody who knows more than me reckons it is actually Derek Hynd.

geoffrey Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 06:50 pm new

agree. drive in sydney, get caught in traffic. surf at snapper/noosa/byron/sydney and get crowds.

longboarder420 Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 01:17 pm new

AMEN TO YOU !!!!! you are the best !! spread the word !! we surf for fun not to intimidate those who are weaker than us
!!! ayayayayayayayayayayaa

udo Tuesday, 17 Mar 2015 at 06:45 pm new

Pic on realsurf of the yellow board Hynd was riding.

oldman Thursday, 19 Mar 2015 at 03:46 pm new

Would rather walk 5km on hot sand to surf 2 foot beachie close outs than fight that crowd.
Maddog is right about SA. Need to travel a little bit or surf during the week and miss the crowds (if u can).

Stupe Thursday, 19 Mar 2015 at 04:09 pm new

Total piddle. Total piddle with a bevy of kooks on display. Like fck why run videos of piss poor conditions with a pack of kooks paddling over the top of each other? Just show us the morons dropping in on each other. There are zillions of awesome vids on youtube, but you run this? please.
