Kepa Acero and Cyrus Sutton in Peru - video

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

This past February Cyrus Sutton and Kepa Acero scored perfectly-shaped Chicama on the first south swell of the season. The waves weren't big but the sandbars were good.

Here are a few highlights of their trip.

Having been there can safely say, the woman are different but the snow is light and fluffy as for the wave it's looooong and fun, with lots of walking in between

How big does this place hold ?

caml Friday, 10 Apr 2015 at 05:51 am new

Needs bg swell to break yes ?

Tabby10 Friday, 10 Apr 2015 at 07:00 am new

I surfed it around 4-5 ft and to get that you need a huge swell to rap into the bay. The sweep is insane as well, but if your staying in the upmarket hotel on the corner you have boats to take u back to the line up while the rest of us walk.
As for how big not sure when it's starts maxing out but it doesn't always break all the way which is about 2 Km's depends on sand, swell direction etc

don't think it needs to be a big swell to break like this, msw told me it was 4ft the week i was there and it was pretty similar to the size in the video. i believe it can hold upwards of 8ft and just gets better and longer and less sectiony the bigger it gets.

Are you sure the swell wasnt big at exposed breaks but msw had it correct for chicama?

Where would one find the equivalent in a right hander, Mozambique, Mexico, Panama, Sri Lanka?
