Cyrus Sutton, San Francisco - video

Recently Cyrus Sutton drove up to San Francisco and rode a board borrowed from Hess Surfboards. Danny Hess builds sustainably-minded surfboards from reclaimed wood and recycled foam.

The board - called the Noriega Model for those wondering - was an 8'0" featuring locally-sourced, wood veneer deck over a stringerless EPS core and carbon wrapped rails for added strength. The result, Cyrus says, was a very maneuverable and light semi gun that got into waves easily and navigated the tube well.

See for yourself...

Love that style of surfing everyday of the week. The drop & bottom turn at 1.04 is tops. A no airs, no bullshit a just drop, turn and get barrelled sort of day ...
