They are annoying BUT surf industry marketing has always had its 'irreverent' or alternative side. Blame the audience that are loving it and not the clown performers I say.

The industry is littered with start up corpses like the mad hueys. They may make a little bit of short term coin off 13-18 year old idiots, but this market is pretty fickle and will dump the clowns for the next sideshow on the block.
