Pretty funny comments in the doco tho.?
10-15 sec barrel, never saw one, best wave on the planet, the best bottom contour in the world!
These comments were obviously promotion plus!

Seems to me there are better lefthand waves in the world than right handers, certainly in the Mentawis. Anybody ever been anal enough to tally it up? Rifles, pistols, Bankvaults, Tikis, burger, lances right vs the rest. How I wish maca's was a right hander.

There's plenty of others out there but quality wise, the lefts would outnumber 2/1 I reckon.
Surely something to do with prominent swell direction and trades the way they bend around the reef passes

A 'documentary on the recent history and current state' of the place is a stretch, it was just an extended ad for the resort. I give 8/10 for the footage of the waves and 1/10 for the dialogue.

I really enjoyed the wave for a day then got bored with it.
As for a 10- 15 sec tube that's a joke the wave isn't that long

I wonder if the resort has speed boats to go further south for day trips etc

I was on a charter in April and the resort took the long boat full of frogs down to thunders. Classic frogs. Wrong winds they got skunked while we surfed super fun 2ft maccas with no other boat

Healthy dose of scepticism required.
