Shippies last week - video
Though it was 12 foot Shippies, last week's swell would've passed mostly unnoticed if it wasn't for the antics of Mick and Mark. Mick Fanning collected another name to put in his big wave resume, this alongside Cloudbreak as Mick was one of the few pros to paddle into a beast during the infamous 2012 Volcom Pro freesurf. Mick handled the Shippies step with aplomb though he got positively blasted when trying to paddle into a set.
And then there was Mark Mathews whipping in with a foamy under his arm - and one under his feet - attempting a board transfer at triple-overhead Shipsterns.
