When the takeoff is crowded with surfers and the channel full of photogs the only place a punter can find some space is in the air. Check this incredible drone footage from Pipe.

Do half the crew out there actually expect to get a wave??
Be interesting to get the view of someone who's surfed there.

Surfed it a bit 15+ years ago and it was hell crowded then, so much so you could only expect a couple of waves, or perhaps a handful at best, each session. Doubt I'd even bother with it now.

I can remember Jamie O, who would've been a teen back then, getting his share of waves and little has changed in that regard.
