Loose! I'd like to see his board.
Frothing grommets made me smile.
Old mate sure knows how to thread a tube.
Couple of heavy drop ins. KS included.
Surfed with Robert a few times over the years, he is actually pretty respectful in the line up. (at least the times i surfed with him.)I am giving Robert the benefit of the doubt on this one.Old mate was pretty deep and changed his line pretty early.
What board is he riding ? looks as though it is restricting him. (to me anyway.)
Restricted?…he just looks like he is looking for some barrels and doing a fine job at it in waves that i expect would be harder to work out in real life, slabby shifty bowls.
To me it looked as though the board was way loose on his bottom turns ?? (saying that - I wish I could bottom turn like KS.)
That was my first thought too - looked a tad squirrely off the bottom and he appeared unable to lay solid carves on it. Didn't look a great choice for Honolua.
Pull in the tail, straighten the rocker, hire me as board caddy.
agreed....but I haven't seen Kelly on a magic board since he won Fiji in 2013.
That board he was riding at Honolua looked like it would go great in a wavepool with controlled conditions, in the ocean: not so much.
Now there's a waves everyone can surf. Oh sorry did I mention the crowd too. Damn ! Could be Snapper on a NE cyclone swell with that crowd and the bowls. Hawaii is no different to Oz Gold Coast obviously. Yeah your right KS certainly knows how to thread it successfully. What's the Hawaiian term for a long time Haole like Kelly? Stay wet all!
How well did he read those shifty bowls!!
looks like a poor man's version of North Point from that angle haha
So glad they stopped the resort development here. Such a phenomenal wave/place.
