Kelly Slater at Peahi - video

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

Though he chose to surf Waimea during the peak of last Friday's swell, Kelly Slater jetted to Maui to clean up the dregs - 20'+ dregs mind you - at Peahi. With his style and manouvreability the question begs: how long till we see Slater surf Peahi in full flight?

Well that was ordinary in todays standards and still dropping in. Maybe he
knows his limitations.

Real tight arc off that first bottom turn, though I can't tell if it's the board (or Kelly, obviously), or if he hit a bit of bump that accelerated the turn. Would love to see his approach when it's bigger though.

pretty ordinary compared to even the WSL event , let alone the last BIG swell , maybe he testing some of his new design bds?

VICLB Read and comprehend as written. Has nothing to do with him without
doubt being the best surfer of all time.

Love the commentary - 'Who is that ?'.
'Don't know but he has some style'.

Doesn't matter if he is the best in the world, you still got to learn a spot and sort your big wave game out. Unless you're Josh Kerr that is.

He is going to have a hard time topping Shane Dorian, that guy is an absolute freak in mega waves. This looks almost playful compared to the day before and it is still bloody big.

Is there two videos cause the one I just watched he fucking slayed it...sure not the biggest jaws but lets check it by the waves :

1. Delays the bottom tun and hooks it under the lip before the wave dies out
2. Hand drag and then high lines it to avoid the other bloke....on a 20f wave FFS
3. Goes for the cover up...wave doesn't really throw enough
4. Bit of a non event

Thats what i thought, i thought his positioning on the wave was good and approach was good it's just more the wave kinda wasn't quite doing it, just teasing.
