Kai Bates, a SUP specialist from the NSW south coast, gets an unlikely call from a French TV production team filming a documentary on rivers. Kai meets them in PNG to surf the Digul River tidal bore.

Looks pretty average but would be good to surf a tidal bore just once to tick of the bucket list.

BTW. The Digul river is in West Papua not PNG, hence the Susi air plane.

Likewise Bikini.

Good on the little fella for having an awesome journey like that.

I bet he was peaking when the boat left him to the crocs. haha
Character building IMO;)

Has anyone ever pointed out the inconsistency between your attitude and your screen name, "Free"rider? 'Spose everyone's a freerider...as long as they ride a shorty?

Any one can ride whatever they want, wherever they want to, just so long as its not my missus, daughter, bikes or boards they want to have a shot of.
