Bethany Hamilton at Restaurants - video
Yesterday the WSL announced that Bethany Hamilton had received the surprise wildcard into the upcoming Fiji Women's Pro. Clearly they'd told Bethany in advance, 'cos at the same time the press release was uploaded she was racing down the line at Restaurants. And doesn't look it look playful compared to the horrorshow happening out at Cloudbreak? Playful or not it still has me baffled how she can surf so well.
The Fiji Women's Pro starts on Sunday 29th May. Bethany will face Tyler Wright and Nikki Van Dijk in Round 1.
This isn't the first time Bethany has competed since the shark attack, she's had a few wildcard entries into the Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang. Here she is in and out of the coloured jersey at Padang.

Don't have many hero's, but she is top of my list. Was whinging at God one day out at Burleigh about my disability and having a bad session and Bethany paddled up and sat next to me and said hello. Never whinged again since, just enjoy every day given.
Watched her surf at Padang in the Rip Curl Pro in 2012. She is absolutely amazing, won her heat easily against the local boys. Certainly makes me feel like a complete kook.
