John John Florence // Twelve: Part 2 - video

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

Hurley have just dropped the second part of their latest web series, Twelve. The series is a "behind the scenes look at the world's best surfer" and in this one he surfs the North Shore "as you've never seen it".

If you suspect that I'm bring cycnical then you're off the mark. I am however bemused by the use of spin and hyperbole when introducing John John. Just drop a clip of JJF, anywhere, anytime, and we'll slavishly eat it up. Of course we will.

That said, you will have to put in extra effort to watch this one. Hurley ain't embedding it so it's a double click affair. Make the first one here: https://swllnt.com/2apPbko

That is so worthy. That gliding air he does around the 3.00 min mark is "all time" even if he did not ride out of it.
Epic stuff.

That guy is THE future of surfing. He can do anything and with power in serious waves something the Braz contingent just can't. There aren't any Aussies I can think of who have got the lot except maybe JW and he seems to misfire too much. Awesome which is a word used far too much however a perfectly apt description of this freak of nature.

Fuck. Me. Dead.

He's the best, easily.

That gigantic left he pulls into towards the end was fucked up.

He honestly can do it all.

I wouldn't care if he never went in another contest again and just put out clips like that instead. What a fucken freak

I just watched it again...it's like his perspective on wave size and performance from growing up on the north shore is completely different to everyone else. He surfs 8ft waves like they're 3ft and 20ft like its 10ft.

I was thinking exactly the same thing . He does the same airs on 8 ft waves as those other guys do on 3 ft waves. Incredible .
