Desert symphony - video

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

On the first of August the WA coast was pleasantly smashed by a large south-west swell. It was the same swell that turned over Cowaramup Bommie down south, and that would eventually hit Bali for the Rip Curl Cup. Roughly in the middle of those two is this place, where videographer John Barton perched himself on the hill and watched the local maniacs go about their business.

It's a relatively long clip, 10 minutes, but it's worth slowing down and tapping into the desert groove.

Love the dolphins at 5:00. The true ocean surfers.

Thanks for the best 10 minutes of my week. Perfect barrels. Unknown chargers. Hypnotised by the waves and the music.

beautiful footage, music and dolphin drop-in. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to camp, bushwalk, surf, dive and fish in that area, as well as survive the tsunami that also hit G-Land and caused havoc widely in the Indian Ocean in 1994. Wild coast.
