Owen Wright gets barrelled again at Pipe - video

OK, so the headline has a little bit of license. The Big O did indeed get barrelled at Pipe this week, however it was Aussie Pipe, a wave near his old south coast home, not the Hawaiian version where he receieved a head knock last December. That injury proved more serious than first thought, Wright pulled out of the Pipe Masters for safety sake, then he pulled out of the first half of this year's tour, then the second half. The bleak question at the back of everyone's mind was 'would he return to the tour at all?'

That thought has been somewhat allayed by the video footage and accompanying text:

"Turned the biggest corner this wk with the head injury. It's good to be feeling a lot more like myself again. Can't believe how things change!"

Rickto, I don't think any media took that video of OW. I think he knows a few 'real' people from around that neck of the woods. You would not call that classic 'Pipeline'.
