Desert Point - video

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

Speed. Enough of it to make your eyes water and forget about ever cutting back again. That's what this li'l clip expresses...and barrels of course, let's not forget about them. But the sense of front foot drive is just stunning.

It's rough and it's raw and it's got Rage Against The Machine as the backing track. Enjoy.

Great clip.

Never get tired of DP and a meaty track to go with it. Love it!

Faark! So good to see rides complete with paddle in!
Nice to see footage of insane waves that hasn't been edited to buggery.

1.25 to 2.30 is sick.

That was wicked! Awesome track to compliment the pits.

Unreal to watch.

Grower be heavy.

So sick.

As AndyM mentioned - the lack of editing/production is great to see. Less slow mo please and more real time footage of full paddle ins like this.

I've seen that sort of thing a few times, I reckon it is a bunch of guys doing there own video thing and so they can be picked out from the crowd, for whoevers shooting

As above, the minimal editing gives a great perspective
great to see the paddle ins
but also the rhythm of the sets gives a feel of what it may be like in the water

"but also the rhythm of the sets gives a feel of what it may be like in the water"

Good point, so many vids give no connection to the feel of what's happening in the water.

Great clip, all goofies? Haven't surfed DP myself so wondering is it too fast at that size for backhand?

Blowin Thursday, 15 Sep 2016 at 07:19 pm new

I'm not sure about this year but the Brazzos have had a desert point wave of the winter comp going in previous seasons.

That big bomb at 4:15 guy doesn't make it, it just spins way too fast but what a sight.
What were the rights doing nearby , as big and clean or NO !! not right swell direction or wind anyone know. Hey Pete Ariea where were you that's your back yard isn't it??
Great to hear Rage ATM Awesome.

Not sure what your talking about Dell with the rights .

As for that drop and not making it he would of copped a fair flogging . I got dropped in on similar size wave there ten years ago , just as i got to the bottom and started rounding the falling lip some bloke decided to fall from the lip too . I had to straighten out and got flogged for the length of the point .
Note to other players , no matter how fit you are don't try and paddle straight back out through a set . :-)
