DP is a real favorite of mine to watch, I never seem to tire of the endless barrelling sections and deep tubes. I've watched a fair few vids of this spot and this time I'm struck with how far forward this bloke rides it, I can't see him with the back foot on the tail pad at all. Could've put one on the nose for his front foot. He does it well.
Not sure if you've ever surfed with Jim Banks, or seen him surf, but this bloke reminds me a lot of Banksy. The shuffle forward on the board, the leading arm held a bit higher pointing towards the exit. Very similar.
As a right foot forward surfer - I just want to get there one day !!
Just watched the last DP vid Swellnet ran and most blokes in it have a wide stance with the back foot on the pad....interesting. I remember Jim talking about a real smoker he got at G Land during a contest many years ago and how he rode up front negotiating the foam ball and managing not to get bucked off. At the time Slater said it was some of the best tube riding he'd seen, high praise indeed.
A long way from banks-alike style . & I think Jonathan might go even better with a broader board . The small nose could be limited to maneuver from riding forward as he does . Would be nice to see a clip of banksy in a long left tube doing that hand thingy
Hey Caml is that Peruvian Jonathon?
miss'n some of the action in the fast lane?
