It's an epic wave...but if you're not close friends with a local guy you're not getting anywhere near one of those set waves! Nic von Rupp is a standout on his backhand in big pits!
crg thats not true I got plenty of waves at coxos good ones as well and so did
my 2 sons infact the locals were in general pretty cool we only just got back.
Now already setting our sights for next years return trip the whole area is
like disney land for surfers its a great place. Why they have the contest at
supertubos is beyond me with these type of waves everywhere.

I haven't been back since 2010...was going there since '94 to stay with a best friend and Ericiera local so didn't have too many problems myself but saw a lot of burnings of tourists and out of towners. I remember it being a transition time from not many surfers to getting popularised and the old local crew were pretty resistant and aggro at times. My mate moved away chasing a girl to Belgium of all places.

It's called 'adaptive' streaming. It means the quality of the video adjusts automatically as your bandwidth availablity changes.
Perhaps you were downloading some other videos, and they finished half way through the Coxos video, which freed up bandwidth and therefore improved your streaming quality.
