Shoulder season - photos

Swellnet Dispatch

The winter season is winding down in Vicco save for the odd burst of swell here or there. And one of those bursts hit last week, a long-lined mid-range number that struck under classic conditions: blue sky, light northerly wind.

Steve Arklay ditched the sloping, limestone rights for this bommie and beach set up. The outside bommie splits the lines of swell so the inside beach wedges wildly.

Shoulders running every which way.

Know this spot well. Not many people there midweek. Have scored it a few times with about 3-5 guys out.

Gary wishes it looked like that this morning.
A lot of paddlin' for not a lot' of lovin.

Still, Gary usually has to pay for a good paddlin' so it's not all bad.

That's a decent crop of quality shots for one day.
