So it wasn't as big as last year but it was still pretty damn entertaining in parts. The swell wavered at times but came on strong in the final when Billy Kemper mowed down Greg Long's seemingly insurmountable lead with a perfect 10.

In the women's, only three surfers paddled out for a six person final, the other three getting treated for injuries. Hard to see how they would've influenced the outcome even if they we present as Maui local Paige Alms, she with the most Jaws experience by far, demolished the others. Wasn't even close in the end.
