Yes - Its the usual fluff but finally, at least we are getting to see a little of the guy behind all the promo bullshit. You would think the marketing team at RipCurl could do a little better ? But maybe they just don't really know how.

Anyone I know who's involved with the tour and deals with him regularly says he is a lovely kid. It almost seems an agenda to portray him badly...admittedly he doesn't do himself any favours at times but much of that can be chalked up to youth and cultural misunderstanding. Might be time for Charlie to step back a little and let him be himself and not micro coach his life.
Yep think so CRG - I think if he was left to his own devices it would be a much more human Gabriel, and we could relate to him. The language barrier isn't an issue - everyone understands that English is his second language, no one cares about that. Its the crap they (his minders) tell him to say that's the problem. Just let the kid be himself.
