Bloke getting axed on the second wave... *shudder*.
Love the first track too - Blue Foundation "Eyes On Fire".
Does the average Mavericks gun look considerably smaller than 5 years ago?
A number looked not much over 8'0, and the guy at 6.00 looks like he's on something around 7'8. Pretty ballsy on your backhand.
At Peahi, some of the best big wave surfing I've seen. Great music. Thanks.
i love that last wave. The instinct to pull up the face in fear of running out into deadwater in the trough must be huge. That thing had so much power in it, and bowl, that he barely tips the rails throughout the whole ride and still manages to get barrelled off his nut. To me it was perfect management of washing off exactly the right amount of speed at a critical point on the ride via subtle & steady rail changes.
Mavericks - 30. Surfers - 2
What a zoo!
Mavericks - bottom turns 1, go straight 30. Peahi they actually go along the face!
Amazing that they actually paddle for those beasts but I used to love watching the tow in guys on small boards rip huge waves. Imagine RCJ out at Mavericks on a short tow board on those sets.
Great clip. Great music. All good.
Agree with Ben above, that second wave I was cringing just watching it.
Great vid but have to think the danger factor now is off tap. Hard enough putting yourself in the zone to catch one of those monsters let alone compete for them.
scary..the amount of water moving and meat floating..and it must stink like a servo out there.
Slow mo is so good. Cool tracks too. Nice to hear a lil effort going into the right tunes to fit....more or less ;-)
Count me among those who'd have nothing whatsoever to do with Mavericks; it looks terrible - and terribly scary.
Peahi is beautiful, but I can't even imagine how much it'd take to get a wave with so many out.
I loved everything about that clip.
The crowd always surprises me when you get the wider shot. I can't imagine reaching the heights of skill and fitness required to surf those waves and then having to deal with that sort of crowd.
SUP @ 8 secs how the hell would he have gone if he caught that wave
and wtf was he doing out there ?

Looks like Alejandro's blocked the video, which is a shame. Was a cracker.
